Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, 2008 Will Be a Year of Further Growth
Accredited by the Academy Awards, the Japanese short film festival, Short Shorts Film Festival will mark its 10th anniversary this year. On Friday June 6th, the festival is scheduled to open at the La Foret Museum in Harajuku, Tokyo. On the same day, the festival will open at Yokohama’s Brilla Short Shorts Theater to kick off a national tour. It is scheduled to open in Nasu and Nagoya at later dates.
Short Shorts Film festival Asia Marks its 5th Anniversary
The Short Shorts Film festival Asia started in 2004 under joint sponsorship of Tokyo Metropolis as a short film festival of many outstanding Asian works including those from Japan. This year’s festival has been confirmed! Under the name Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, the film festival is scheduled to tour nationally.
Short Films Open Doors for the Future
The Short Shorts Film Festival, marking its 10th anniversary this year, has been supported by film director George Lucas since its first year. It has also received warm encouraging messages from world renowned film directors Martin Scorsese and Sofia Coppola, Korean actor Yoo JiTae, and American actress Jennifer Aniston. This year, there will be a special screening of Kirsten Dunst’s (famous for her role in the Spider-Man film series) work, which marks her directorial debut. The Short Shorts Film Festival has flourished into a worldwide film event, highly credited by Thespians who are expanding their horizons.
