2007.06.20 Shibuya University Network: Special Lecture presented by SSFF&ASIA

On June 16th, Shibuya University hosted a special lecture collaborating with SSFF&ASIA. Our festival director, Seigo Tono was invited as a guest lecturer for this event to talk about various topics regarding short films.  Six short films were also screened during the lecture.  

Approximately 180 people attended the lecture and enjoyed the short films.  We gave away 10 festival tickets to the audience to show our appreciation for attending the lecture and getting to know the world of short films.

SSFF & ASIA 2007 is proud to announce a special talk event with popular Korean actor/director, Jitae Yoo ("How Does the Blind Dream," "The Bike Boy," "Old Boy"). This special event presented by one of our top festival sponsors, HARTZ LINK Co., LTD will take place on June 30th from 19:50 to 21:40 (Special 2) at Laforet Museum in Harajuku.  The event will include screenings of Jitae Yoo's short films and a discussion with him on topics of his theory on short films and current trends in Korean short films. The Festival's Founder, Tetsuya Bessho will also join the event to discuss short films with Jitae Yoo.

Mr. Masanori Furuya will be the MC for this event, who will also host the KMC program.

SSFF & ASIA Announces New Competition Category for 2008

Welcoming its 10th anniversary in 2008, Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) will introduce a new competition category that represents the theme of global warming: "Stop! The Global Warming Competition."

2007.06.18 [CUT][TOKYO WALKER][TOKYO HEADLINE] x [SSFF&ASIA] : Special Collaboration

We will have a special festival coverage in “CUT”, “TOKYO WALKER”, and “TOKYO HEADLINE”! In “CUT” and “TOKYO WALKER”, we will have a mini-version of our catalogue that you can take out and bring to the festival.

In addition, a 200-yen discount coupon will also be included in these mini-catalogues, so you can spend an hour and a half watching short films for only 800 yen!

“CUT” and “TOKYO WALKER” will be available at bookstores from June 19th and “TOKYO HEADLINE” everywhere in Tokyo from June 18th.

Our festival sponsor, HARTZ LINK CO., LTD will host a special seminar for young emerging creators! As a lecturer, we will be inviting Mr. Hiroyuki Nakao, who is the Best Short Award winner of SSFF & ASIA 2004 in Japan competition and has just produced the newest film "Line" to be shown at this year's festival as a Japan premier.
