Official Competition

90 short films selected from approximately 2000 will be screened under the three official competition categories. The Grand Prix winner will be chosen from 3 categories: international, Asia International, and Japan.

Grand Prix

Selected from three Best Short Award winners. The film will be eligible for an Academy Award ® nomination in short film category for the following year.

Best Short Award : International Competition

The Best Short Award from International Competition. Prize:600,000yen

Best Short Award : Asia International Competition

The Best Short Award from Asia International Competition. Prize:600,000yen

Best Short Award : Japan Competition

The Best Short Award from Japan Competition. Prize:600,000yen

MoviePlus/Jupiter TV Award
The award will be given to the winner of the Best Short Award in International Competition. A cash prize of 1,000,000 yen will be given to the winner and the winning film will be eligible for the Grand Prix award.

Sponsors' Awards

Adobe Award

This year the Adobe Award will be presented for the first time at SSFF&ASIA! A single short film from the Japan Competition will be selected by Adobe and be awarded with the newest Adobe software.

FC Tokyo Student Jury Award (International Competition)

Student jury members from the Tokyo Film Center School of Arts will screen and rate the films to select the award winner from International Competition.

Governor of Tokyo Award

This award will be given to the Best Short Awarded films in Asia International and Japan category.

Audience Award

Audiences' votes will be counted to give the award to 1 winner from each 3 categories. Prize:400,000yen
